You think you've found the perfect venue. The meeting rooms are bright and airy, the coffee's good and it's five minutes from the station. Then you ask about outdoor space, and they show you the car park.
It's easy to assume outdoor team building needs a venue with grounds of its own. Do you imagine a lawn, a lake, or even a country estate with a long drive? Most venues have plenty going on just outside the door, and it's our job to find it.
Look beyond the venue walls
As always, we start with what you'd like the day to look like and do for your team. Maybe it's getting departments talking or simply having fun together after a busy stretch. Then we look at what's around you: the high street, a riverside path, the park round the corner. Even a little time outside makes a real difference to a team, so it's always worth a look.
In Henley, one venue we work with didn't have room for archery, so we borrowed part of a nearby pub garden to ensure the team still got their archery, just a short stroll away. We talk to all sorts of people to make things like that happen, and we're not shy about asking.
Outdoor team building on your doorstep
Our Scavenger Challenge sends teams out into town with photo missions, things to find and cryptic clues to crack. The fun is in choosing which missions to chase, and colleagues who barely cross paths at work end up huddled over a clue, plotting together.
Nordic walking is gentler, though your arms might disagree! An instructor hands out the poles and off you go on a local route, chatting as you walk. We call it ‘netwalking’. Even an hour between conference sessions sends people back into the room with clearer heads.
As the evenings draw in, our torchlit Ghost Walk through Windsor makes a brilliantly spooky end to the day. If you prefer daylight, guided walks and bike rides through Windsor Great Park are hard to beat.
We do know that not everyone wants to race round town, and that's fine. We plan for the sprinters and the strollers. And because this is Britain, we'll help you plan for the weather too. There are plenty more urban team building activities to choose from.

You don't need a venue before you talk to us. We can bring team building to your office, and town-centre offices often have more nearby than you'd think.
