The Shanley Group - Giving The Power Of Play

On Tuesday 1st July 2025, 110 participants from The Shanley Group took part in one of our immersive team building CSR activities.

The Toy For Life programme is a fun and immersive team building activity that helps put a smile on the faces of needy children across the world.

The time and effort spent they spent that day will go on to make a meaningful difference to global communities, impacting individual lives all over the world…

EVENT SUMMARY

Our host, Mike, delivered “Toy for Life” to a room full of purpose-driven, enthusiastic delegates from The Shanley Group. Mike talked about how making a positive difference to someone else’s life makes you feel. Delegates were encouraged to share moments in their lives when they had made a real difference.

Discussion ensued about how we all took toys and play for granted as children, recognising of course that not everyone in the world is as fortunate as our audience and that is why our programmes are so important and impactful.

Attendees then set about building the toy kits they’d been given with passion knowing that someone would benefit beyond measurement - creating something that literally does give the power of play and the ability for a child to experience a few moments of joy.

The lessons learnt in the audience will travel with them throughout the attendees career and the key message for us all is that in everything we do there is an opportunity to positively impact beyond ourselves!

Thank you for partnering with us to give-back and help us distribute toys to kids all over the world!

Photos of Your Day

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

TOY DISTRIBUTION

The toys built will be delivered to children who are directly linked to, and benefit from the services provided by the incredible organisation outlined below:

Sayuni Nursery School

Situated in the rural community of Nyakasojo, in Kasese Municipality Constituency, Bulembia Division Subcounty, Nyakabingo III parish, Kasese district found in western Uganda.Surrounded by the Rwenzori mountains, the Nyakasojo community faces significant challenges in accessing essential services like education and healthcare. The remote location and difficult terrain pose major obstacles for families, requiring children to traverse long distances through valleys to reach the nearest educational facilities, leading to high rates of absenteeism, irregular attendance, and premature school dropout. The community primarily relies on agriculture for sustenance, with each household averaging 12 children. Nyakasojo community currently has 67 households. For most children, they have never been gifted a toy before.

We are sending the toy car’s you built to these deserving pupils, empowering them to explore the transformative power of play in their lives.

Please note, whilst toys that are distributed in a school setting are received by one child they are shared, communal and used across class groups, year groups and subject groups. This is so that as many children as possible can enjoy the positive the impact from your Toy for Life participation.
